We're continuing with our scanned photo series, today with five different British Westland Lynx helicopters. They were taken between the years of 1986 and 2005. More details below the photos.
The Lynx was designed back in the 1960s and first flew in 1971 as a British and French project, although the French pulled out of the contract before delivery.
Some basic technical facts, it has a four blade semi-rigid main rotor system and is powered by two turboshaft engines. It's capable of aerobatics, like the Bo 105 with its rigid rotor system.
The Westland Lynx is to this day the fastest helicopter with a speed of over 400 km/h or 249 mph.
Above photo shows XZ183 654 and the photo was taken in 1986.
